Sunny weekend

Whenever the sun is out, we try to take advantage of it! This past weekend was beautiful! So we explored Granville Island, Granville Street, and the area around Science World. We also attended the tree lighting in Surrey on Saturday night.

Grouse Mountain Fun

My (Jenn's) birthday was November 17. We had lots of fun that day, including decorating the tree, ordering pizza from our favorite little shop across the street, and playing in the snow at Grouse Mountain!

Here's a short video from our time in the snow...

Grouse Mountain

We are learning that the sun does not shine often here in Vancouver. With a location just north of Seattle, the weather definitely rivals Washington's rainy city! So when the clouds part, we get out and try to see and do as much as possible!

Today the weather was cold but clear, so we made the (almost 2 hour) trip to Grouse Mountain. Getting there requires a train, a sea bus, and a bus... but it was totally worth it! We did the math and discovered that an annual pass costs less than 2 visits. So we will now be able to go multiple times during our time here!

The area is beautiful! We can't wait to go back again once there is more snow, and are especially excited about visiting there once the Christmas season really kicks in! Here are several pictures from today's adventure.

Canadian Halloween

When we arrived in Canada, we didn't think they would celebrate Halloween. (Okay, it was probably just my own wishful thinking, as I'm not a huge fan!) But we soon found out that it is HUGE here. Tons of people dress up, and tons of people shoot off fireworks. (Having a 19th floor apartment gives you a great view of the fireworks!)

We were invited to our friends' home where the kids could play games and enjoy candy and other treats. So we managed to find two very inexpensive costumes (total cost @ $6.00). The boys got dressed up. We took them to see Hotel Transylvania (very cute!), dinner at McDonalds, and then on to the party. There were about a dozen kids there and everyone had a great time.

In fact, the boys walked back to the bus stop proclaiming this as the best Halloween ever!
